Josep Maria Carbonell Barberà was a Catalan writer born in Reus on January 18, 1910. He moved to Barcelona at the age of seven and drew inspiration from his father's extensive library. He worked for various publishers and became well-known for adapting classic works for Editorial Bruguera, as well as writing comics. He collaborated with several writers and used the pseudonym Norman R. Stinnet. Carbonell also wrote detective and western novels, and he wrote a religious play titled 'El Diví Mestre' during a brief return to Reus in 1935.
