Josep Maria Carrera i Macià is a prominent Spanish gynecologist recognized for his contributions to Perinatal Medicine. Born on June 25, 1937, in Navarcles, he graduated in Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1962 and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1965. He led the Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine Service at the Institut Universitari Dexeus until his retirement in 2002. Additionally, he served as Secretary General of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine and founded the NGO Matres Mundi. He has authored numerous scientific works and is a visiting professor at several universities.
