Josep Maria Tarrasa i Alvira was a notable Catalan radio broadcaster, born in Tarragona on August 20, 1913. He gained fame as the director of Ràdio Tarragona and as the creator of the beloved children's character Maginet Pelacanyes in 1934. Apart from his radio work, he founded the Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Pasión and organized Holy Week processions. In 1990, he was honored with the Creu de Sant Jordi, and posthumously, a street in Tarragona was named after him.
