Josep Selva i Vives (1902-1987) was a Catalan writer and art historian from Reus. He moved to Barcelona in 1918 to study art and became an expert in art history in 1931. He served as curator of the Museu d'Art Modern and was the director of Special Services in 1967. Selva wrote volumes for the 'Speculum Artis' collection, published studies on various art periods, and wrote poetry and narratives in various publications. He authored novels such as 'La Llum i l'ombra' and 'Albada'. He was involved in numerous articles on art for specialized magazines.
