He earned a Bachelor’s in 1953 from Lehigh University and a Master's and Ph.D. in Physics from Ohio State University by 1958. Geusic worked at Bell Laboratories starting in 1958 and held various supervisory roles, including leading departments focused on solid-state lasers and magnetics. His contributions include patents on the Nd:YAG Laser and advancements in optical parametric oscillators. He received multiple prestigious awards and is a Fellow of the IEEE and the American Physical Society.
