He was among the last traditional pin-up artists, avoiding modern software in his work. DeMartini mentored several artists and maintained a studio in the San Francisco Bay Area where he created fashion illustrations, calendar girls, and pin-ups. His long friendship with Vargas greatly inspired his artistic journey.
