Lieutenant General Joseph M. Cosumano Jr., born on December 15, 1946, served as the commander of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command from April 30, 2001, to December 16, 2003. A graduate of Woodlawn High School and Northwestern State College, Cosumano was commissioned through Army ROTC in 1968. After his military career, he became President of CFD Research Corporation in 2013 and holds the position of Honorary Colonel of the Northwestern Demon Regiment at Northwestern State University.
