He studied at Miami University and Purdue University, earning a master's degree, and later received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He served in the US Air Force as a Colonel and later worked at the University of Dayton Research Institute where he focused on futurology and technology assessment. He published the science fiction work 'Pushbutton War' in 1960 and wrote several hard science fiction stories over the decades.
