Josette Audin, born Sempé on February 15, 1931, in Algiers, was a French mathematics teacher and political activist against racism and colonialism. She was the wife of Maurice Audin, whose disappearance she pursued answers for throughout her life. After serving as a mathematics instructor in Algeria, she left in 1966 and continued teaching in France until her retirement in 1991. A passionate advocate for truth and justice, she received the Legion of Honor for her activism. She passed away on February 2, 2019, in Bobigny.
