Jostein Trøite is a Norwegian farmer and politician born on December 21, 1946, in Skogn, Nord-Trøndelag. Initially a member of Venstre, he joined the Socialist Left Party (SV) at a young age. He served as a member of Levanger city council from 1980 to 2019 and held various leadership roles within SV. Trøite is also a historian and educator, having graduated from the University of Trondheim in 1976. He ran the Støre farm for over 30 years and has been involved in local agricultural and ecological organizations.
