Joy Koesten (born December 30, 1954) is an American politician known for her service in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019, representing the 28th district. In addition to her political career, she is actively involved in health initiatives, having co-launched a campaign for an Endowed Professorship in Developmental and Behavioral Health at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Koesten transitioned from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party in December 2018 and later ran for the Kansas Senate 11 seat but was defeated in both 2018 and 2019 elections.
