Jože Colnarič was a Slovenian agronom born on February 20, 1925, in Starše and passed away in 2011 in Maribor. He graduated in 1953 and later earned a doctorate in 1966 with a thesis on the impact of vineyard terraces on microclimates and root system development of grapevines. Throughout his career, he held several leading positions in agriculture and viticulture and became a lecturer at Maribor's Higher School of Agronomy in 1960. He authored numerous publications, focusing mainly on terracing sloped land and grapevine cultivation methods.
