Jožefa Mervar, known as Sister Deodata, was a Slovenian nun born on November 26, 1903, in Boričevo. After joining the Sisters of Mercy in 1925, she dedicated her life to caring for the sick and helping the poor. She cultivated herbs and prepared home remedies while working in various hospitals, particularly in Belgrade. After World War II, she faced imprisonment before returning to her mission of healing in Šentrupert. She became highly trusted for her herbal treatments until her health declined, leading to her death on May 10, 1992.
