József Markos was a Hungarian artist and parodist born in Budapest on February 28, 1912. He performed abroad during the 1930s and 1940s, and after returning to Hungary, he became known for his solo performances in various venues. Markos survived labor service during the war and later starred in many theaters. He joined the Vidám Színpad in 1951, where he became a leading performer. Renowned for his parodies and pantomime skills, he mimicked various professions and characters, achieving great success. His son is György Markos, a Hungarian humorist.
