Juan Agustin Zumalabe Mendiburu (April 28, 1914 - March 8, 1981) was a Basque poet and translator from Donostia, Gipuzkoa. He taught at a local academy and translated notable works, including Bernardo Estornes' work titled 'Sabin Euskalduna' in 1935. That same year, he translated Jules Verne's 'Around the World in Eighty Days', but the translation disappeared from the Eusko Ikaskuntza office in 1936. He also authored 'Joku ta kirolak' in 1935 and played a key role in reviving Eusko Ikaskuntza in 1978, serving as its main secretary until his passing.
