Juan Diego Redondo Puertas, known as 'Dieguito el dolent', was a Catalan robber born on October 15, 1959, in Pampaneira, Spain. He spent more of his life in prison than out, having been incarcerated for various crimes starting at age 16. Notably, he participated in a significant prison escape from Barcelona's Model prison in 1978. After numerous legal troubles, he gained fame in 2004 by writing an autobiography detailing his life and escape. He faced personal tragedies, including the suicides of his wife and the death of his daughter, and died on December 18, 2011, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
