Juan Urteaga Loidi was a Spanish organist, choir director, music pedagogue, and composer born on January 28, 1914, in Valmaseda, Spain. He studied music at the San Sebastián Conservatory and later under Marcel Dupré in Paris. Urteaga had a distinguished career as an organist and choir director, founding the Schola Cantorum de Nuestra Señora del Coro and leading the Coro Easo. He spent a decade in the Dominican Republic before returning to France and then moving back to San Sebastián to lead the Donisti-Ereski choir until 1977. His compositions mainly include choral works.
