Juana Pinés Maeso, born on February 26, 1953, in Manzanares, Ciudad Real, is a Spanish writer from a family of writers. She began her writing journey at the age of 14. After returning from Mexico, she moved to Madrid where she published her first poetry collection 'A golpes de silencio' and got married to Francisco Baeza in 1984. Back in Ciudad Real, she led the Grupo Literario Guadiana and the literary magazine Manxa, fostering new writers. Pinés has published 17 books and received over 120 literary awards throughout her career.
