A pioneer of abstract art in Peru, she held her first solo exhibition in Lima in 1947 after participating in a collective exhibition in 1946. Throughout her life, she lived in various cities including Lima, New York, and Rome, and her work garnered appreciation from noted poets and artists. She showcased her art in multiple countries, such as the USA, Italy, Chile, Spain, Mexico, and Belgium. A significant retrospective of her work was held in 2007 in Lima, Peru.
