Julia Hall Bowman Robinson (1919–1985) was an American mathematician, philosopher, and professor known for her contributions to the fields of computability theory and computational complexity, particularly in decision problems. She was a member of the National Academy of Sciences since 1976 and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her significant work on Hilbert's Tenth Problem, now referred to as Matiyasevich's Theorem, played a crucial role in its eventual resolution. Robinson was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away in California at the age of 66 due to leukemia.
