Jurabek Nabiev is a renowned traditional Tajik musician born on February 10, 1941, in Ghulakandoz, Proletar. Orphaned at the age of two, he began singing at fifteen after studying chemistry. By the 1970s, he emerged as a leading singer of his generation. A graduate of Leningrad Teacher's Institute, he became a soloist at Leningrad National Musical Theatre in 1962. Notably, he sings in both Uzbek and Tajik, receiving accolades as a 'People's Artist' in 1980. His repertoire includes over 500 traditional songs and he founded the Durdona ensemble in 1993.
