Jürgen Conings was a Belgian military personnel who went missing in 2021 in response to the Belgian government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was accused of stealing weapons, including a pistol and a rocket launcher, and expressed opposition to lockdown measures, claiming the government lied and stating his intention to join a resistance against politicians and health experts. Following a police letter threatening prominent virologist Marc Van Ranst, he was monitored for being an extreme right-wing sympathizer. Conings was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in June 2021.
