Jürgen Löchter is a German accordionist and composer born on February 18, 1939, in Witten. He studied at the Trossingen School of Accordion under Hugo Hermann and Armin Fett, debuting as a concert performer in 1958. Löchter has won several competition awards and has toured worldwide, including a tour in Russia. He taught in Trossingen and later in Witten, where he served as the director of the music school from 1983 to 1999. In 1977, he founded the ensemble gruppe neue musik witten, focusing on contemporary music.
