He served on the Lagtinget from Suðurstreymoy from 1978 to 1984. Born out of wedlock to Marianna Jacobsen and Harald C. Aase, he was actively involved in local governance, including being a member of the school board and parish council. Jacobsen also engaged in initiatives with fishermen and was elected to represent his constituency when the original candidate was unwell.
