Jyri Juhani Raitasalo is a Finnish brigadier general born on November 12, 1970, in Espoo. He has been serving as the commander of the Karelia Brigade since January 1, 2023. Prior to this role, Raitasalo was the head of the strategic planning sector at the General Staff. His career includes serving as the aide-de-camp to the Commander of the Defence Forces from 2010 to 2013, commanding the Helsinki Air Defence Regiment from 2014 to 2015, being a military professor of general warfare at the National Defence University from 2017 to 2019, and serving as a military advisor to the Minister of Defence from 2019 to 2021.
