K. Anirudhan was a prominent leader of the CPI(M) and a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, born on February 28, 1927, in Thiruvananthapuram. He was the son of P. Krishnan and held B.A. and B.L. degrees. Anirudhan was an active member of the CPI(M) district committee and the district secretariat, and he served as the President of CITU at the district and state levels. He became an MLA after winning an election in 1963 and notably defeated Chief Minister A. Sankar in subsequent elections in 1965 and 1967.
