K. Appavu Pillai was an Indian politician and a long-serving Member of the Legislative Assembly from Hosur. He was born on April 15, 1911, and was an influential leader known for his vision and dedication to the growth of Hosur. Elected as Panchayat President in 1943 during British rule, he served for 30 years. He won the 1957 State Assembly election and played a crucial role in establishing SIPCOT in Hosur. Educated in a local high school, he later became the Managing Director of Salem Central Co-op Bank.
