K. C. S. Mani, whose full name was Konattu Madam Chidambara Iyer Subrahmania Iyer, was an Indian socialist activist from Kerala born on March 2, 1922. He is notably recognized for his attempted assassination of C. P. Ramaswamy Iyer, the Diwan of Travancore. This act was significant in the political landscape of Kerala, as it led to the Diwan's departure from Travancore, eventually resulting in the merger of the state with the Union of India. Mani passed away on September 20, 1987.
