Korgi Jayaprakash Hegde is an Indian politician known for his role in the Government of Karnataka, where he served as a Minister and currently as the Chairman of the Karnataka Backward Class Commission. He played a pivotal role in the creation of Udupi district from the undivided Mangalore and Udupi regions in 1997 during his tenure as Minister in charge of undivided Mangalore and Chikmagalur. Additionally, he served as a Member of Parliament, representing the Udupi Chikmagalur constituency.
