Kavali Prathibha Bharathi, born on February 6, 1956, is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh known for her role as the first woman speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2004. She held various ministerial positions, including Minister of Social Welfare and Minister of Higher Education during the 1980s and 1990s. Representing the Telugu Desam Party, she won five consecutive elections from 1983 to 2004 from the Etcherla constituency. Bharathi comes from a politically active Dalit family with a legacy of political involvement.
