K. Sankaran Nair (1919–2015), also known as Colonel Menon, was an eminent Indian civil servant and diplomat. He notably directed the Research and Analysis Wing and served as the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore from 1986 to 1988. His contributions during the Bangladesh Liberation War were significant, aiding in the formation of Bangladesh. Nair's memoir, 'Inside IB and RAW: A Rolling Stone that Gathered Moss', published in 2008, provided insight into India's intelligence operations. In recognition of his societal contributions, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1983.
