Kurupassery Varkey Thomas, born on May 10, 1946, is a prominent Indian politician from Kumbalangi, Kerala. He served as a member of the Indian Parliament representing Ernakulam Constituency from 2009 to 2019. Thomas held the position of Minister of State in both the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution during the Second UPA Government. Additionally, he was a member of the All India Congress Committee from 1984 until 2022 and currently serves as the Special Representative of the Government of Kerala in New Delhi with Cabinet rank.
