Kadhim Habib was an Iraqi politician, economist, and writer born on April 16, 1935, in Karbala and passed away on August 30, 2021, in Berlin. He joined the Iraqi Communist Party in 1952 but faced imprisonment and exile during the monarchy from 1955 to 1958. He studied economics in Berlin, obtaining bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as a doctorate. He taught at Al-Mustaqbal University and later worked in Algeria before moving to Iraqi Kurdistan to join the Peshmerga. He published numerous works in economic and human rights topics.
