Kaga Hosokawa (1924-1989) was a prominent haiku poet from Tokyo, originally named Koshichiro. After graduating from elementary school, he began working and attended commercial school. He started writing haiku after meeting members of the 'Tsurugi' group during his illness. He became noted for his poignant verses reflecting on personal struggles. Throughout his career, he published several haiku collections including 'Kizuato' and 'Shōmitama.' In 1984, he founded and led the haiku magazine 'Hatsuchō.' He passed away due to a fall-related injury in 1989.
