He serves as the president of his own company, Shimoda Kageki Office, and is the chairman of the Japan Literary Artists Club. Shimoda is also the leader of the Good Children Reading Team and a member of the Japan PEN Club. His real name is Tadao Shimoda. His pen name was inspired by his ambition related to rice paddies and a fondness for a historical figure's name.
