Kalidindi B. R. Varma is an Indian materials scientist, born on June 1, 1950, in Andhra Pradesh. He earned his PhD in Physics from Madras University in 1981 and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the UK. Varma has been a professor at the Indian Institute of Science and is currently the Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. His research focuses on dielectrics, ferroelectrics, non-linear optics, and electro-optics, and he has authored over 200 papers in international journals.
