He was a teacher at Nayagam Middle School, receiving the 'Best Teacher' Dr. Radhakrishnan Award from the Tamil Nadu Government. Kuppusami authored over fifty books, with 'Maruthu Siblings' winning an award for Best Children's Literature in 2007. He also received the Tamil Selvam Award in 2018 from the Tamil Development Department of Tamil Nadu based on district achievements.
