He began his political career in 1988 as a member of the Indian National Congress, serving as the Sarpanch of Kotharia village. He held the position of head of Khamanor from 1998 to 2000 and became the Deputy District Chief in 2000. Later, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the Rajasthan Assembly elections in 2008 against CP Joshi. Up until his death, he represented the Nathdwara constituency.
