Kamal Fawzi al-Sharabi was a Syrian poet and translator, born in Damascus on August 20, 1923. He graduated in law from the Syrian University in 1947. He began his career as a teacher of Arabic and French literature before working in the Ministry of Economy, eventually becoming the director of the minister's office. In 1964, he founded the poetry magazine Al-Qithara, which ran for two years. Al-Sharabi dedicated his life to writing and translation, moving between Damascus and Latakia, and published several poetry collections and translations.
