Kamal Lohani (June 26, 1934 - June 20, 2020) was a prominent Bangladeshi cultural figure, journalist, and director of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. He served as the head of the news department of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, famously announcing the victory of Bangladesh on December 16. Lohani was honored with the Ekushey Padak in 2015 by the government of Bangladesh for his significant contributions to journalism.
