Kamalakanta Lenka was an Odia poet and educator born on November 19, 1935, in Odisha. He published several poetry collections, including 'Rit' (1980), for which he received the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award. His notable works include 'Uttarana' (1966), 'Smruti Bismarana' (1973), 'Kabitar Muh' (1974), and 'Atanta Nishchup' (1975). He was also honored with the Bishubh Milan Award in 1979. His son, Sitanshu Lenka, is also a noted Odia poet. Lenka passed away on August 18, 1999.
