Kamen Velev is a Bulgarian engineer and academic, who served as the rector of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia from 1993 to 2003. He was also the Deputy Minister of Education and Science from 2003 to 2005 in the government of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Additionally, he played a role in the establishment of the political party 'Bulgaria for Citizens'.
