Kāmil Shinnāwī (1908-1965) was an influential Egyptian poet, writer, and journalist, born on December 7, 1908, in Nusa al-Bahr. He started his journalism career working with Dr. Taha Hussein in Al-Wadi Newspaper in 1930. The son of a prominent judge, he studied various literary forms and authored notable works such as 'Confessions of Abu Nuwas' and 'Jamilah'. Renowned for his lyrical poetry, he was the brother of composer Mamoun Shinnawi. He passed away on November 30, 1965, in Cairo.
