Kanan Devi (April 22, 1916 – July 17, 1992) was an Indian actress and singer, regarded as one of the first singing stars in Indian cinema and popularly recognized as the first star of Bengali cinema. She was known for her fast-paced singing style and was featured as a significant talent in some of the largest productions from New Theatres, Kolkata.
