Karel Souček (April 19, 1947 – January 20, 1985) was a Czechoslovak-Canadian stuntman known for overcoming Niagara Falls in a barrel in 1984. After extensive preparation, he successfully navigated the falls but faced legal consequences and financial challenges. Following his first successful stunt, he aimed to build a museum in Niagara Falls to showcase his equipment. Tragically, during a subsequent stunt in Houston, his barrel malfunctioned, leading to a fatal accident. Renowned daredevil Evel Knievel warned against Souček's stunts, labeling them extremely dangerous. Souček is buried in Drummond Hill Cemetery in Niagara Falls, Canada.
