Dame Karen Hope Dunnell is a British medical sociologist and civil servant, born on June 16, 1946. She served as the National Statistician and Chief Executive of the Office for National Statistics in the UK from September 1, 2005, until her retirement in August 2009. Additionally, she was the Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority since 2008. Currently, she is involved in various non-executive roles, including serving on the Pricewaterhouse Coopers Public Interest Body, as a Trustee of the National Heart Forum, and as a member of the Court of Governors at the University of Westminster.
