Kari Veikko Piironen (October 31, 1947 – March 31, 2020) was a Finnish tango singer who was crowned the Tango King at the Seinäjoki Tango Market in 1988. He performed for over 50 years, releasing 14 albums and nearly 200 songs. Originally moving to Sweden for metalwork, he returned to Finland after winning the tango competition. He lived in Viitasaari with his wife and had a sister, Vuokko, who was also a singer. In 2017, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to cancel his planned anniversary concerts in Finland and Sweden.
