Kari Suoraniemi is a former Finnish ice hockey defender born on September 29, 1960, in Oulu. He started his career with Oulun Kärpät and won the SM-liiga championship in 1981. Suoraniemi played in North America for three seasons with the AHL’s Rochester Americans, winning the Calder Cup in 1983. After stints in Finland and Sweden, he ended his professional career in 1995. Historically, he played 65 senior international games for Finland and earned individual accolades, showcasing his contributions to ice hockey both domestically and internationally.
