Born on January 8, 1955, she graduated from Yerevan State University in 1977 and held various posts in Soviet diplomatic missions in Portugal, Africa, and Romania. She became Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in 2009 and received the Medal of Armenia for Mikitar Gosh and the Grand Cross Order of Merit.
