Karl Martin Holzhäuser, born on February 18, 1944, in Gardelegen, is a prominent German photographer and university lecturer. He trained in photography from 1962 to 1965 at the Museum Dahlem in Berlin. After studying at the Werkkunstschulen in Darmstadt and Saarbrücken under Oskar Holweck and then at the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Kilian Breier until 1969, he began teaching at the Fachhochschule Bielefeld in 1970, later becoming a professor of photography in 1975. Holzhäuser is recognized for his contributions to generative and concrete photography.
